Julius Caesar

Julius Caesar was important for many reasons and many of his actions. He was a strong leader sought the office of consul in 60BC. Julius then ran for governor of Gaul, Gaul was a territory northwest of the Italian peninsula. Julius led an army that captured most of Western Europe. His successes on the battlefield made him a very important and popular man in Rome. Julius was very important because he made him choices that were right. An example of his good decision taking skills was when the Senate ordered him return to Rome but disobeyed this order because he didn't want to leave his army behind, if he had left his army his career would be over. However the Senators did not like this so they sent Pompey and his army to retaliate. Julius fought along with his army and defeated Pompey and his army. Pompey escaped to Egypt with Julius chasing him, so when Julius arrived there, the ten-year-old king of Egypt, Ptolemy XIII, and presented Caesar with Pompey’s decapitated head. These facts about the life of Julius Caesar show how he was really important.

My favorite Greek thinker

Homer is perhaps the most important Greek Thinker. This was because as a blind man he did many things that help understand the world back then. Homer not only did fascinating things but wrote them too. He composed many works of perhaps the most important Greek literature besides he also wrote the Odyssey and the Iliad. Most work of writers and actors have done many books and movies on the work of Homer like the movie Troy which was made on 2004 based on the story "The Iliad". As you see Homer was really interesting because even though he was blind it didn't stop him from writing these books.

Hector

I think that Hector did do the right thing by fighting Achilles because it was a thing of honor and respect. Hector also did the right thing because he was fighting for something that was good which was to protect his family and country but died in war which was very symbolic for a hero. Hecto did this because he wanted t0 stop Achilles from killing more of his people and family.I would of have done the same because people would honor me for my actions also it is a good way to show your bravery and skills you have. I would of also have done the same because this would show how Heroic I was.

The Myth of Osiris

There was once a god named Osiris who ruled Egypt and its people. Osiris was the son of Geb and Nut. He was a really good ruler he made equal laws for the Egyptians, he ruled the Egyptians for many years and cared for them because they where his people .Osiris taught the Egyptians many things. Osiris taught the Egyptians the art of agriculture so the Egyptians now know how to grow fruits and other and other vegetables, even though Osiris was the one that did all the growing because he was the god of vegetation. This god made the Egyptians abolish their beliefs of cannibalism. After he did all these things he decided to spread his rule around the world. Osiris saws how a good job Isis was doing and that everything was in order so he kept on going through the world. When his evil brother set saw this he started plotting against him. Set then had a big feast in which he had lots of food to eat and drink. Set had made a coffin and said that it would be a gift for whose evil it fitted best, but what set hadn't said about the coffin was specially made for Osiris so when Osiris got in the coffin Set put the lid and threw it into the Nile River. Isis loved him so much that she left the throne to Set to go looking for the remains of Osiris. Isis found the body of Osiris in a far away place called Byblos. She then brought Osiris’s body back to Egypt Iris then hid it in the marsh. Set then unfortunately found his body, tore it to pieces then threw it back into the Nile River. Isis then set back looking for the body pieces, until she found all the pieces except the genitals which had been eaten by fish. She took it back to Egypt again, bandaged it together to make the whole body. This became the first mummy. It also became the akh, in this form Osiris traveled to the underworld to become king and judge of the dead.
