Julius Caesar

Julius Caesar was important for many reasons and many of his actions. He was a strong leader sought the office of consul in 60BC. Julius then ran for governor of Gaul, Gaul was a territory northwest of the Italian peninsula. Julius led an army that captured most of Western Europe. His successes on the battlefield made him a very important and popular man in Rome. Julius was very important because he made him choices that were right. An example of his good decision taking skills was when the Senate ordered him return to Rome but disobeyed this order because he didn't want to leave his army behind, if he had left his army his career would be over. However the Senators did not like this so they sent Pompey and his army to retaliate. Julius fought along with his army and defeated Pompey and his army. Pompey escaped to Egypt with Julius chasing him, so when Julius arrived there, the ten-year-old king of Egypt, Ptolemy XIII, and presented Caesar with Pompey’s decapitated head. These facts about the life of Julius Caesar show how he was really important.
